What is MRCA, and why is it important? MRCA is the parent support organization of the Mount Royal Children's and Youth Choirs and, as such, fulfills an essential role by funding the Enrichment Component of the Mount Royal Conservatory's Choral Program. MRCA's support provides for all the extra activities offered by the program beyond the Core Component provided by the Conservatory through choir tuition - basically the weekly rehearsals and the two major concerts per year. It is MRCA which provides funding for camps and extra workshops, subsidies, uniforms, guest conductors, extra performances, transportation when required, and contributes to touring expenses, primarily through its gaming license. So, parent support of MRCA and its activities directly benefits the individual choirs and the individual choristers, and is why parent involvement in, and support of MRCA is so essential.

Mount Royal's Chidlren's and Youth Choir are managed, in part, by the elected volunteer, parent-run Board of Directors of the Mount Royal Choral Association, a non-profit organization affiliated with The Conservatory, Mount Royal University.
